Plastics and microplastics are more and more frequently entering our waterways. We see them littered along while we swim, paddle, and fish. Jake is a recent graduate of the Outdoor Adventure Naturalist Program with Algonquin College. After coordinating a shoreline clean-up project for the Rideau Environmental Action League and Rideau Roundtable last fall, he became very connected to the problem of the large amount of plastic in the Rideau River. Since then, he has conducted research on the issue and learned about some effective ways we can help reduce plastics in our rivers. Jake is passionate about sustainability, and wants to help others learn about environmental challenges and sustainable living.
