With the steady increase in development along Canada’s lake and rivers, critical fish habitat is being compromised and degraded. In this free webinar, Melissa Dakers will provide information and resources for community groups across Ontario to restore and enhance their local in-water fish habitat. She will discuss the launch of a new, free Fish Habitat Enhancement Toolkit which includes step-by-step protocols and videos created by Lanark County Stewardship Council and Watersheds Canada, and funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, LUSH Charity Pot, Cabela's Canada Outdoor Fund, and Environment Canada. She will also discuss Watersheds Canada and Quinte Conservation’s current Pugnose Shiner Landowner Engagement and Shoreline Habitat Restoration Project being delivered on West Lake, East Lake, and Wellers Bay, and is funded by Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s Habitat Stewardship Program for Aquatic Species at Risk.
